The Transpective Discovery Process

photoYour Transpective consulting engagement begins with a series of several diagnostic assessments. The results of these assessments allow us to target quickly and accurately the issues we need to address and get to work right away on a productive engagement that will bring you and your organization the intended results – better performance, productivity and profitability.

We begin with two premises:

  • Culture shapes the environment of the workplace and is the context for how well the business operates.
  • Positive transformation of a business culture is key to improving its productivity and profits.

Given these two premises, we begin by addressing culture. The Transpective Discovery Process© is designed to “decode” the organization’s culture by drilling below the surface to expose the shared norms, values, beliefs and assumptions that keep the culture intact.

The workplace culture is designed to provide safety, security and stability -- qualities that in turn help to preserve the culture’s status quo. But preserving the status quo also means resisting change, often without conscious effort. In times of new challenges, maintaining the status quo often delays needed changes or even causes failure.

We look closely within the organization at how the people from different levels of responsibility and areas of functionality perceive the challenges, demands, opportunities and threats facing the company and how the “way we do business around here” equation influences these dynamics. Getting an accurate perspective on the “way we do business around here” shared point of view enables us to see the role it plays in enabling or disabling a desired plan of action for the future.

When the discovery process is complete, we will present our findings to the senior executive team, along with our recommendation for the type of engagement that will best serve you and your organization.

DiSC Group Culture Report Used in Conjunction with The Transpective Discovery Process©

Groups, like individuals, tend to develop their own unique styles or cultures. Regardless of the comfort level of each individual group member, the collective group culture has a large impact on his or her behavior, attitudes, and satisfaction level.

The DiSC® Group Culture Report is a diagnostic tool that helps us explore with you the DiSC style — or culture — of your group. Once we know the culture — its characteristics, advantages, and drawbacks — we are better prepared to open meaningful discussions with group members in a group setting or one-on-one.

The DiSC Group Culture Report helps the organization’s management team answer these questions:

  • What is the DiSC behavioral style of a group?
  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of the group culture?
  • How does the group culture affect members with different DiSC styles?
  • How does the group culture influence decision making?
  • How does it affect risk taking?
  • What types of behaviors are valued? What behaviors are not valued?

Only by discussing these types of issues is it possible to capitalize on — or change — group culture.

The Transpective Discovery process, combined with the DiSC Group Culture report, gives us access to the inner workings of the “human side” of the business: that which is invisible, yet shapes and constrains everything that is possible.
